Lovin' the Fall Leaves!

Lydia is loving the Fall leaves! She had to collect a million while we were getting pictures - kindof reminds me of someone I know!
My silly girl!

Summer Just Flew By!

You all know my excuses for not blogging much this summer - here are some of the things that happened in the midst of building a home as the summer flew by!

Lydia turned 2 on July 18th! We had a Luau Birthday Party for her and she "helped" me decorate her cake. (Notice the blue frosting all over her face - she is always so good at helping!) Lydia loved her Froggie Luau Cake! We had pizza and borrowed Kristen's blow up water slide for the kids to play on - they all had a blast! Lydia had fun opening her presents - I love how she sits while she reads her books! Lydia absolutely loves to be with Nathan! I put him down on the couch for some tummy time, and she wanted to lay by him - so cute! I tried and tried to find something (cheap!!) for Nathan to wear on his blessing day. I found this cute little outfit, but it was obviously too small (took a picture of him in it anyway!) Then I found another one that I thought would fit him and it was too big - no one had his size! Crazy! So I ended up just putting him in a white polo with some khakis - oh well! Daddy and Nathan
So sweet! Our cute little family!

So funny!

And here is the other reason...

This little guy is the other reason I am so busy! I love him to death - especially his new little smiles that I can't seem to catch on camera! I'll keep trying, though! I have a million pictures (you know me - I'm not kidding!) and I wish I had time to post more, but when it is the choice between a nap and blogging, guess what I choose? Here are a couple of my favorites!
Yeah, this was taken when Nathan was exactly a month old - and he really didn't want to rest his little head in Daddy's hand. At least we got a couple cute pictures before he freaked out and peed all over everything! Gotta love it!

Lydia just loves Nathan and wants to help with him all the time. She will go and put his binky back in his mouth, put ALL of her blankets on him, give him her dolls to "play" with, and today she even took the bottle from me while I was feeding him, and said "Me do it," and then proceeded to feed him! She is getting so big so fast! On the days that I have had enough sleep, I sure love these kids! (yeah, I love them always, but that is when I will actually admit it.)

Daddy arranged this one - I thought it was so cute of them laying there and playing, I just had to take a picture!

So busy!

Well, it has been forever since I have posted last, and here is one of the reasons why:
The hole for our house was dug the middle of June!
It was neat to see the process of building a house. I can't believe how much is involved - and I didn't even see half of it!
The foundation and framing went really quickly! We had fun coming up to the house every evening to see what they had done!
The roof and windows quickly followed!

Right now they are working on the stone and stucco, and they just finished up the sheetrock and are now doing the texture on the walls!

These are our amazing views out the back and front windows!

Overall it has really been a stressful experience - I don't know if I would ever want to build again. I can't believe all of the decisions we have had to make - and I am such an indecisive person! I can't wait to see it all done and to be able to move in! We are hoping they will be finished mid-October.

Lydia's Antics...

So, I know it isn't the easiest thing in the world to have a little brother come home with Mommy and Daddy from the hospital and take all the attention off you, but Lydia is handling it fairly well. She really likes to "help" mommy with baby brother, but also has some jealous streaks and does a lot for attention. I guess she has always been a pretty silly girl, though.

Lydia trying to fit in her dolly stroller - a little too big! I love that she loves her dolly and takes care of it as I am taking care of Nathan. She has a bottle so she can feed her dolly & changes her "poopy" diapers (wasting quite a few of the wipes, but what can you do?). She has to take dolly everywhere with us, too. Lydia drug her ducky and every other stuffed animal she has (they are under ducky) inside her ball pit for a big party! One example of Lydia "helping" with Nathan. She likes to bring stuff to him in his crib - this time she shared her grapes and sippy cup! I have also come to find him mercilessly unwrapped from his blanket, and then another time with all his burp cloths piled on his head. Don't you love Lydia's 80's do? No, I don't have as much time to do her hair & she often looks like a rugrat! This time her style was from pigtails after the nap & a clip to get it out of her face!Lydia's favorite time now is when mommy is feeding Nathan. She can reach WAY too high now, and likes to get into EVERYTHING! This time she came to me looking at her hand with quite a bit of concern. I didn't see my makeup base smeared all over her hands and face until I got closer. Yup - Good skin match, I guess.
