So, I found this video on my friend, Kiley's blog. She totally hit the mark with this video on how she felt when her & her husband were trying to start their family. I am glad there are those of you out there that understand.
We are so blessed to have Lydia! I can't get over how everything just fell into place within just a couple of months, and how the blessings just got better and better. For those of you who don't know our whole story, it is pretty personal, but I am willing to share. Here goes:
Brent and I were married in May of 2000. We decided after a few months of marriage that we wanted to have children whenever Heavenly Father wanted to send them to us. So for several years we just didn't worry. After we graduated from BYU in 2003 and moved to Oregon, I was ready and really wanted to be a MOM! But nothing happened still. So we tried to be patient. In 2005 we decided to check out what our insurance covered when it came to infertility treatments. We saw a doctor, got all the tests done, went on clomid, I went CRAZY on clomid, and ... NOTHING! Then we moved back to Utah. I didn't want to find a job - I just wanted to be a MOM! But I eventually got a job at NSP, and of course insurance didn't cover anything with infertility.
We were at Fiesta Days in July of 2006 and ran into one of Brent's high school friends. She had gone through infertility (it is amazing how many people you find that have gone through this) and went to a doctor that she highly recommended - Dr. Larry Andrew. She warned us of all the bad publicity he was getting, but had been following it all and still stood by him. (This is all a whole other story, but I just want to say that I highly recommend him as well and will continue to do so! He is an amazing guy, and his wife (his In-Vitro nurse as well) is SO awesome, too!)
I had called earlier (in June) and had gotten an appointment up at the SLC infertility clinic (I couldn't get in until September) so I thought I would call and try to get into Dr. Andrew. I was able to get an appointment in August, and all the needed tests were done, etc. To make a REALLY long story short, we had decided to start by trying Artificial Insemination, but when there were too many eggs, we were able to go straight to In-Vitro (in October) without some of the nasty drugs (namely Lupron) and for a bit cheaper price. I had 8 eggs retrieved and had 2 put in. Voila - nine months later we were blessed with a sweet baby girl!
I am just so thankful that we found Dr. Andrew, that the timing on everything worked out so well, and that we were finally able to get pregnant after almost 7 years of trying. We still didn't have the question of why so long??? answered, but I know for sure it is all in Heavenly Father's hands & I will continue to try to be patient and always be grateful!

Seeing this made me even more thankful for my little girl, if that is possible! And I can't believe she will be one in a little over a month! Craziness!
